France and several European nations ban air travel to and from the UK after COVID-19 mutation

European countries banned flights from the UK on Sunday and the WHO called for stronger containment measures as the British government warned that a potent new strain of the virus was "out of control"
A faster-spreading mutation of COVID-19 was found in the UK and has also been responsible for at least one case in the Netherlands, prompting the Dutch government to take action. France also confirmed the ban of all arrivals to and from the UK. Other countries, including Italy, Belgium and Germany, soon took similar actions. Ireland's transportation minister confirmed that flights and passenger ferries from Britain to Ireland have been suspended for at least 48 hours.
