The Liverpool boss said there was a «glimmer of hope» over the severity of Matip's injury, after the defender was forced off at half-time in the win over Tottenham, but the club are still awaiting the results of the scan on his damaged ankle ligaments. Fabinho - who missed Thursday's game with a muscle injury - is ruled out of Sunday's trip to West Ham, live on Sky Sports.

Jesse Lingard is due in London today to put the finishing touches on a loan move from Manchester United. In addition to Lingard, it seems they are positioning themselves to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles. The Mirror reports that the versatile Arsenal star is keen to get away from the Emirates in the coming days for a loan period which will help him cement a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the European Championships. David Moyes was keen on Maitland-Niles last summer.

To sign Lingard, they had to bring forward Said Benrahma’s permanent move, something they would have to do with Craig Dawson to free up space to secure Maitland-Niles. West Ham also need a striker, but it seems Moyes might be content to continue with Andriy Yarmolenko acting as back-up for Michail Antonio. DZEKO SEEKING MANCHESTER RETURN One striker West Ham have been linked with is Edin Dzeko. Dzeko, though, would appear to prefer a return to Manchester.

Corriere Dello Sport says the striker’s agent Alessandro Lucci has been working on a deal to take the 34-year-old back to City where he won five trophies between 2011 and 2015. Gaezzetta dello Sport reckons Lucci has also been dangling Dzeko in front of Manchester United’s nose as a possible replacement – as if one were needed – for Odion Ighalo. Neither United or City, though, are interested in bringing Dzeko back to the Premier League.

Rojo has not featured for United in the current campaign and made a single Premier League start last season before spending the second part on loan at Estudiantes.

"There has been talks and there's been quite a few clubs interested in Facundo to go out on loan and that's maybe something we will let him do now," Solskjaer said earlier this week, when comparing Pellistri to new signing Amad Diallo.

" "With Amad, I think it's a different scenario. " It won't be too long, I feel, before I can bring him into the squad." " likely that Marcos goes back to Argentina, a little bit of paperwork left to be done, I think," United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said on Friday.

In terms of outgoings, Timothy Fosu-Mensah has already this month completed a permanent move to Bayer Leverkusen, and Jesse Lingard has passed a medical at West Ham ahead of an imminent move to the Hammers.
