Singer Jeremih says COVID-19 complications nearly killed him: 'My heart went out' Jeremih is recovering from COVID-19, a battle which nearly took his life. The 33-year-old R&B singer called in to SiriusXM’s Sway in the Morning and opened up about a “rare” complication he developed causing organ failure. “What I can say is man, it definitely is real,” he told Sway Calloway on Tuesday. “I didn’t take it for granted and truth be told this is kind of, one of those, I’m a living, walking testimony.” Jeremih, real name is Jeremy Phillip Felton, was intubated in the ICU where he said he saw a “white light.”
